As part of my new two month experiment (Short and Sweet and Scattershot), I’m shamelessly indulging this morning in a post of nothing but sweet newborn photos of little miss Lucie.
Made in New Zealand, born in Oregon, she’s the cutest little Peach I’ve ever seen…
…cute enough to make the cover of the photographer’s fb page for 15 minutes of fame (haha!):
Many thanks to Erin Tole for sharing her brilliant talent (and having enough of a sense of humor to put up with Ted and me!). She nabbed our maternity pictures at Grossen Peaches in Helvetia (while I was lumbering around with a stomach bigger than last year’s backpack) then came on the day of Lucie’s birth to record those first sweet moments at the waterbirth center.
One week later, we packed up our new-parent selves and tiny Lucie and spent the morning at Erin’s studio having way too much fun with the little sleeping bundle of arms and legs and cheeks.
It’s pretty fun to finally be threeOregonians. She rounds out the bunch pretty well, no?
Something tells me we’ll look back on these first photos in the same spirit as those snaps from the first morning of our trip around the world. It’ll feel like just yesterday and like ages ago. So ripe and fresh. So full of promise, anticipation, and wonder…
Just where will we go from here?
xx Bethany, Ted & Lucie
(Psst! Wait ’til you see pictures with her bright blue eyes open!)

Adorable, adorable, adorable. Am so happy for the threeOregonians :).
P.S. I love the ‘short and sweet’ idea! :)
Thank you, Anita. I’m so happy to show her off ;) and I’m hopeful that the new permission I’ve granted myself to just have fun with the blog will mean more enjoyable tidbits in the future! xx B
WOW. She is adorable. What a gift. Congratulations to you two (three!).
Kim, you’re a sweetheart! Thanks for the congrats, and thanks for the compliments about the cutest little Peach on Twitter. ;)
Have so much fun enjoying Paris! I have wonderful memories from when I was there as a 17 year old. I’d love to go back…
What a fabulous “record” of a fabulous journey that the three of you are taking. These are precious pics that should be submitted to baby magazines! WOW….
Molly! We must get together so you can meet her : ) I don’t know about baby magazines…but I’m diligently putting together photo book collections from each month during this first year. It’ll be so much fun to flip through them together when she gets a little older.
adorable little peach indeed! Glad you were able to travel around the world for awhile and enjoy it and learn and grow. Now it’s Oregon time and hope to see you all 3 one of these days. Did she even wince when the photos of her so curled up with her little feet/legs so tight up close? Guess it’s not much different than being inside momma, huh? Thanks for sharing the great photos! A nice looking family for sure! Hugs!
She didn’t flinch at all — it’s amazing. The photos are from her one-week birthday. She’s in such a milk-drunk deep sleep and the room is a furnace with blasting white noise ; ) it’s enough to keep any baby blissfully dozing during dozens of poses. She’s already grown so much since then, but it’ll always be amazing to look back and realize she really was that small, and she really was all curled up like that inside of me!
Oh wow, she is absolutely beautiful!!! Congratulations guys, she really is the cutest little peach I’ve ever seen :)
I’m so glad you agree ;) I’ve turned into the ever-grinning mommy whenever I see her cute little cheeks. She’s been smiling so much lately, too. It’s just the best!
too precious!
And she smells so good, too!
She is just a DOLL!! What a beautiful little peach you have. Feel free to share more baby pics :)
“Feel free to share more baby pics…”
Uh, oh. NOW you’ve done it. ;) Question is, can the internet hold the flood of photos I’d love to share?! (I can’t help but put favorites over on Instagram…just in case you need a quick fix… http://instagram.com/thelittlepeach )
Adorable! Let’s hope she sleeps as well as these pictures make it look :-)
Right.
Haha…sometimes yes; most of the time, no, not so much… ;)
