Where to Go in Spain?

October 24, 2016

When Ted and I vacationed in Spain, we spent time with our dear friends visiting Barcelona, Valencia, Granada, Malaga, and Cadiz, exploring and eating and soaking in the scenes.

I’d love to return someday.

The vibrant nation of Spain is famous for its rich culture, beautiful beaches and year around sunshine, which make Spain holidays the perfect destination for people who can’t get enough of the sun and want to enjoy a little time working on their tans. In addition “to spending their holiday” beach hopping, visitors to Spain will find a large number of other types of attractions that are just waiting to be enjoyed, from stunning architecture to interesting and informative museums and locally created products and cuisine that make shopping and dining in this part of the world a real treat.

Sun worshippers will want to check out the stunning Costa del Sol, which boasts some of the most beautiful and popular beaches in the whole of Spain. The city of Malaga makes the perfect base here, as it is situated conveniently close to a number of gorgeous stretches of sand. In addition to spending time at the beach.

Visitors to Malaga will also be able to take the time to visit nearby towns such as Marbella, Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Fuengirola and San Pedro de Alcantara, many of which feature their own beaches as well as a wealth of other attractions.

The famous beach resort of San Sebastian is another popular winter destination. The stunning Playa de la Concha is one of the best beaches here and can be found on the Bay of Biscay. The beach resort features an enticing as well as a number of beautiful buildings with this luxury range of their amenities for the visitors to used and enjoys.

The balmy climate of Barcelona makes this an excellent winter destination for people who enjoy spending time in big cities. One of the things that draws visitors here time and time again is Barcelona’s appealing blend of old and modern architecture. Taking a walk along the pedestrian street of Las Ramblas is a great way to get a feel for the city, as it is lined with chic cafes, artists and buskers.

Visitors can follow Las Ramblas southeast from Plaça de Catalunya towards the neighbourhoods of the Port Vell and La Ribera before heading into the Gothic Quarter to take in sights such as the Museu Picasso and the impressive Catedral de la Seu. The best views of Barcelona can be enjoyed from the Parc Guell, which is a charming place to spend a little time during fall weather in Spain months.

Eventually, those missing travel stories of Spain will make it to the blog…
