Parting Glances: Torres del Paine

March 18, 2012

This piece is the sixth and final post in a series following our boot tracks in Chilean Patagonia from Puerto Natales to the little known “μ” Trek at Torres del Paine National Park, through burned out beech forests, past color-charged lakes, up fantastical mountains, and into snug-as-a-bug sleeping bags in a cute little tent in the woods. That first image is STUNNING and while there are many gems following that, I especially enjoy the more detail oriented images, that one will stick with me for a very long time.

When we first arrived at the park, it was a stormy, cloudy day and I had no idea where we were in context to the mountains. I took that shot from the bus on the way out of the park on the last day; absolutely amazing to see that view from the road!

Good heavens I’ve enjoyed my trip to Patagonia!!!!! I’m already missing it.
Over the weekend I rented an Argentinian movie called Intimate Stories.
It didn’t move around the area you were in but it sure gave me a taste of the
    wind!
Just alot of love to the two of you! I know it will be awhile yet, ( I can’t wait) till
Barcelona but keep your eyes peeled for someone who would want to trade
    houses with me from there.
Again alota love. I wish I had given you two knives. It is such a kick to see it in such
    exotic places.
    Love again,
    Jane 000xxx

      Jane!!!!
Miss you so much. Thank you for the note. It’s always a treat to hear from you.
Thanks for the tip on the Argentinian movie. How much fun! I’ll have to add it to the list when we’re back in the states.
Yes, that little knife really gets around. I might have to make a dedicated photo album just to document its travels. (Then we can keep in on display on the coffee table for years to come…) ; )
Guess whose little gold toe ring is about to make an appearance? I’ll be sure to send you a pic once we’ve crossed the ocean….
      xoxo

Scenic area, but looks so wild!
I can feel the strong ice-cold winds just by looking at the pictures.
